2 Killed As Suicide Bomber's Explosive Device Went Off Prematurely In Gombe

A bomb exploded near Military Quarter Guard along Biu Road in Gombe State on Sunday, June 8, killing female suicide bomber and a soldier.
According to Daily Trust, a female terrorist first hugged the soldier before detonating the bomb. She and the soldier were killed instantly while other soldiers who sustained injuries are receiving treatment at the 301 military barracks in Gombe.
According to a source, the "explosion occurred at about 11am along Military Quarter Guard along Biu Road in Gombe."
Reportedly, the woman has arrived at the quarter guard where the office of the commandant of the 301 battalion is located on a motorcycle. She had the explosive in her bag, but the bomb went off before she reached her destination.

The military in the immediate aftermath of the attack cordoned the area from the Union Bank round about to Corner’ Alheri along the Gombe-Bui road. 
Two structures constructed by the military, one inside the office from where they monitor the movement of people and another outside the office building, were destroyed by the blast.
