19 people are missing  and at least 6 dead after a ferry capsized when it was caught in a storm in the south of Bangladesh on  Saturday.  A  government official told AFP :

"The ferry, MV Shatil, sank in the middle of a river near Kalagasia, some 200 kilometres (125 miles) south of the capital Dhaka.About a dozen passengers survived by swimming ashore. Survivors told us another 25 people were in the ferry when it sank.Local people have so far recovered six bodies.A salvage vessel was headed to the spot to lift the sunken boat."

Many ferry accidents are common in Bangladesh,  because it is criss-crossed with over 100 rivers.
These  accidents occur during the  between April and June ( storm season). Poorly maintained vessels and overcrowding are blamed by experts for the cause of  most of the accidents.
